With so many cancellations due to Covid-19, writers and publicists have had to get creative. SORMAG’s Writer’s Cafe featured me on a recent podcast. We talked about getting started in writing, how long it may take to be successful (just what is success, anyway?) and what advice I might have for budding writers.
I am already planning a trip to Bouchercon 2021 in New Orleans. This is a great event for writers, industry pros, and fans of mysteries. Check out their website for more info. https://www.bouchercon2021.com/
Left Coast Crimes is busy planning for its Southwest Sleuths convention, April 8-11, 2021. And so am I!
But there’s plenty of time before 2021. I will join several other authors at the Scenic Regional Library District’s author fair at the Union, MO branch on Saturday, May 2, 2020. They have invited authors of all types–fiction, non-fiction, old, young, and in between. There is definitely something for everyone, and early May is a wonderful time for a day trip in Missouri! Keep an eye on their website for upcoming details.
UPDATE: This event has been postponed. The library is hoping to hold it in Fall 2020. Check back for details.
I had a table at two church bazaars in November and December, where I sold my books in themed gift baskets–e.g., Until Proven Innocent‘s basket contained items like gloves, notebooks, pens, and grandparent-themed gifts. Don’t Fear, My Darling‘s baskets had popcorn, Dr. Pepper, lavender soap and hair accessories. Both were a hit. Thank you to everyone who bought a basket or a book!
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30 was Small Business Saturday in Festus. I was honored to share the day with my favorite indie bookstore, Books Galore. Thank you for supporting small businesses this holiday season!
You can find Until Proven Innocent in stock at Dunaway Books.
Thanks to Books Galore in Festus for a great day on August 17, 2019. This is an excellent standalone independent bookstore, loaded with every type and genre of book. They have vinyl and CDs, too!
St. Louis Public Library’s Author Breakfast on September 28 was a great success. Thanks to Jennifer and the staff at the Carondelet branch for making us authors, and our guests, welcome.
