St. Louis Writers Guild 2024 Anthology
My short comedy/horror story, “Where’s That Damn Genie?” is included. A writer asks a genie to allow her to meet one of her own characters. But when she does, she is horrified to find that ALL her characters hate her for what she has done to them. “It made a better story” isn’t working as a defense. The genie may not come back in time to save her.

The St. Louis Writers Guild Anthology is available from Amazon. Included among all the fine poetry, fiction, and essays is my short story, “The American Dream.” Toby’s life is in such turmoil–unemployment, divorce, massive debt–that her mother’s death is her first lucky break. With the money Mom left her, she can return to the small town she grew up in and buy a home of her own. When her best friend, Mike, reminds her that her creditors will seize anything she owns, she tells him of her plan–to put the house in Mike’s name. But neither of them counted on his untimely death–or his soon-to-be, but not yet, ex-wife.
